Troop 475,
Hope that you all are getting your power back and dwellings in order after this recent Storm Adventure! Pretty Scary but glad we are Scouts and well Prepared!
Based on recent events, please note the following schedule changes for the Troop:
1 – Committee Meeting scheduled tonight has been cancelled, we will have a brief meeting at the Monday, 9-18-17.
2 – LCR having a clean up day this Sat 16th! 7:30 – 12 – Could use all hands to clean up after storm! Bring gloves and rakes!
3 – The meeting this coming Monday,18th will be a PLC meeting to regroup/reschedule.
4 – COH scheduled for Monday, 9-25-17 is postponed.
5- Normal meeting schedule will resume 09-25-17 (Any BOR’s scheduled prior will be done on the 25th).
All Scout attendees to the Camp Soule Aqua weekend, Mrs. Boltz sent out an email that provides clarity on the schedule.
Scouts are ONLY Camping Friday Night! See the email for additional details!
Treasurer Update:
Mr. Chris Phillps will be assuming the responsibility of Treasurer by the 25th. We are going to be implementing a few
changes that will help make his job easier. Those changes are the following:
1 – Dues will be co-termed to end Feb each year. This coincides with our annual Webelos Cross over and will make it much easier to manage.
Please see the attached Scout listing on where your Scout dues end of which some are past due and will need to be paid through Feb 2018.
Dues will remain at $5 a month or $55 annually. Not to be confused with Annual Registration with Troop/BSA fee of $65 which will be due by end
of November.
2 – Scout Accounts – Same file, shows each Scouts balance. If you have any questions regarding the balance, please direct them to me
immediately so that we can pass the torch with 0 issues to Mr. Phillips.
3 – Expense Reimbursement – We will be instituting a reimbursement Voucher form when any expenses need to be reimbursed from the Troop.
Mr. Phillips will share this in Oct or at the COH
Adult Help Needed: Scout Parents, as we enter the new Scouting season, we are in need of help in a variety of Area’s.
Examples of current needs are:
1 – Assistant Scout Masters to align with and mentor our Patrols –
2 – Eagle Scout Mentors to help Mr. Willis align and mentor our Eagle Scouts through their projects. We have many scouts in a variety of stages
and Mr. Willis is only one person, we need more adults to engage, know and understand the Eagle process to align to help these awesome Eagle candidates!
3 – Administration roles such as: Leadership Certificate printing, COH facilitation Fall/Summer, Scout applications/rechartering
4 – Troop Fund Raising – outside of Popcorn
Future needs that would be great if we had volunteers to begin shadowing existing roles:
1 – Committee Chair – Robin Vanscoy
2 – Advancement Chair – Jeff Donovan
3 – Merit Badge coordination – Esther and Chris Kelly
POPCORN Season:
We are entering the Council Annual Popcorn Selling Season starts in Oct. If you are interested in participating we are only doing Online and Take orders this year. Scouts will earn 40% in Commission and there are some great rewards from Council. A separate email and meeting communication on the specifics will be sent out. Mrs. Anderson will be the lead for Popcorn again this year! Thanks Mrs. A!
